Chris Goeglein, MBA / Managing Principal and Founder
Chris is an experienced strategist, advisor to senior executives, and change agent. During almost a decade of leading corporate transactions for Lincoln Financial Group, he evaluated transactions worldwide and completed numerous acquisitions, divestitures, initial public offerings, and startups with a combined deal volume in excess of $7 billion.
As an expert in corporate strategy, valuation, and corporate finance, Chris has become a trusted advisor to business owners and managers. He has advised business owners in diverse sectors, such as insurance, investments, automotive, distribution, manufacturing, and e-commerce.
A Registered Representative with Burch & Company, Inc., a member of FINRA and SiPC, Chris holds FINRA Series 62, 63 and 79 securities licenses. He holds an MBA from Ball State University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and political science from Taylor University.
In addition to his work in the for-profit sector, Chris is active in nonprofit leadership, serving on the Taylor University Board of Trustees and the boards of Taylor University Broadcasting – WBCL, The Lutheran Scholarship Granting Organization of Indiana, and the Fort Wayne Area Youth for Christ. Prior board service has included the Concordia Education Foundation and True Life Choices.
Chris and his wife, Deb, have three children. Outside of his professional and nonprofit activities, Chris enjoys spending time with family, traveling and playing tennis.
Monte Lightner, JD, CPA (inactive) / Principal
Since the late 1980’s, Monte has managed and directed the tax functions of several multi-national corporations, including Lincoln Re, Central Soya and Borden. His planning, research and administrative skills have created sophisticated acquisition and disposition structures, resulting in increased shareholder value. Monte has extensive experience in U.S. and international taxation as well as experience in other treasury matters, including debt placement and risk management. Monte has participated in large transactions worldwide, focusing on strategic financial and tax planning to ensure advantageous legal, tax and accounting treatment for shareholders.
Monte earned his juris doctor from Indiana University School of Law and bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University. He’s also a CPA (inactive) and member of the Indiana bar. He is a Registered Representative with Burch & Company, Inc., a member of FINRA and SiPC, and holds FINRA Series 62, 63 and 79 securities licenses.
Monte and his wife, Beth, are parents of 3 and are active in their church where he is board chairman. Monte also serves on the board of directors of A Hope Center.
Ken Sipe, FSA, MAAA / Principal
Ken is a Principal of True North Strategic Advisors and is involved in all aspects of the Company’s corporate finance, business strategy and merger/acquisition advisory services. Prior to joining True North in 2005, Ken worked more than 20 years in the financial services industry, mainly in a variety of leadership and management positions with large, multinational, publicly-held corporations. In reinsurance deal-making roles with Lincoln Financial Group and ING Group, he was responsible for designing, pricing, negotiating and executing complex reinsurance transactions.
Also actively involved in nonprofit board leadership and executive mentoring, Ken serves as an advisor to nonprofit executives and boards in areas such as strategic planning, board development, policy governance, and strategic restructuring. He has served as a member of various nonprofit boards and currently serves on the board of Colorado-based Kingdom Building Ministries.
An actuary by professional training, Ken is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is a Registered Representative with Burch & Company, Inc., a member of FINRA and SiPC, and holds FINRA Series 62, 63 and 79 securities licenses. Ken earned a master’s degree in actuarial science from Ball State University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and business from Grace College.
A native of Berne, Ken and his wife, Tammy, live in Fort Wayne where they have raised three children. Together, they serve as mentors to engaged and young-married couples. In his free time, Ken enjoys time with family, traveling, reading, and playing tennis.
Scott Metzger, MBA / Principal
Scott is an experienced finance and transaction professional who has applied these skills in a variety of business development activities. He is a strategic thinker experienced in strategic planning, deal structures, due diligence, and contract negotiations.
Scott has an in-depth understanding of the capital markets with experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and initial public offerings. He has led the establishment of a new business start-up and structured joint venture arrangements. Having worked for companies in the Fortune 500 as well as a closely held private company he understands many of the issues present in today’s increasingly competitive business landscape.
As a Registered Representative with Burch & Company, Inc., a member of FINRA and SiPC, Scott holds FINRA Series 62, 63 and 79 securities licenses. Scott graduated cum laude from Knox College in Galesburg Illinois, majoring in Business and Economics. He received an MBA from The University of Chicago.
Scott and his wife, Athena, have three children. He is a member of the Whitley County Sheriff’s Merit Board.
Josh Sipe, CFA, MBA / Senior Associate
Josh joined True North in 2016 after 10 years in the banking and financial services industry. Josh is a skilled financial analyst and strategic planner with a thorough knowledge of capital markets. He has previously led corporate financial analysis and risk management functions at a large community bank and provided investment advisory, trust, and estate planning services for private clients.
At True North, Josh is responsible for building financial models, fulfilling buy-side and sell-side client information requests, assisting in the development of shareholder transition plans, and participating in corporate and nonprofit strategy development.
Josh earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Miller College of Business at Ball State University, an MBA from Taylor University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Outside of the office, Josh serves at his church and is board treasurer at A Hope Center. He and his wife, Lauren, have two children. They are active in their church, enjoy spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors.
Tim Glassley, CPA / Project Manager
Tim joined our team in January 2018 as a Project Manager. With over 8 years of experience in both public accounting and private business, he brings a valuable skillset of technical knowledge combined with strategic thinking. Tim has previously performed audit engagements for many nonprofit and for-profit clients and managed the accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting functions of multiple private companies.
With a desire to serve the community, Tim has been active in many nonprofit organizations. He is the current Board Treasurer at Cross Connections Counseling, the former Board Treasurer at his church, and volunteers his time and musical talents to various organizations.
Tim earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne, and he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Blessed with three young children, Tim and his wife, Sara, enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling. In his free time, he enjoys being involved in his church, playing guitar, singing, and spending time outdoors.
Ama Abrokwah, PhD / Senior Quantitative Research Analyst
Ama joined the True North team in July 2017 and is responsible for developing, analyzing, and implementing financial and statistical models; project management; and a broad range of research projects.
Ama has a strong statistical modeling and research background and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Western Michigan University. Her fields of specialization including Monetary Economics, Development Economics, and Econometrics. She also has a master’s degree in financial and regulatory economics from Illinois State University.
Prior to True North, Ama worked with Enterprise Life Assurance Company where she was in charge of analyzing and evaluating diverse company data and was a member of the agent strategy and innovation team.
She enjoys cooking and listening to music. Ama and her husband, Stephen, are blessed with an amazing son. They enjoy spending time with friends and family and are in leadership roles in their church.
Kayla Luithly / Analyst
Kayla Luithly joined True North in July 2015, where she now serves in the role of Analyst. Her specialties include project management, data analysis, report writing, and client presentations.
Kayla nonprofit experience includes serving as Project Manager at an alternative high school. She also spent some time substitute teaching in Huntington County prior to coming to True North. Kayla holds a bachelor’s degree in leadership, intercultural studies, and teaching English to speakers of other languages from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Having spent most of her life in Kansas and Illinois, Kayla moved to Fort Wayne in 2014. For her first year, she lived (and thrived) with her parents-in-law while her fiancé was halfway across the country. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys socializing, being outdoors, and watching shows with her husband, Kurt.
Amy Kramer / Executive Assistant
Amy serves as Executive Assistant at True North. Her responsibilities include scheduling, presentation preparation, and various administrative tasks. Her voice is likely to be the one that greets you when you call the office.
Amy has a bachelor’s degree in Education from Asbury University. Before joining True North in January 2018, she had been a teacher (both Elementary and GED) and then a stay-at-home mom for many years.
She and her husband, Brian, moved from Pennsylvania to Indiana in 2012. They have 2 teen daughters. Amy volunteers tutoring English through International House and mentoring high school girls through her church. She enjoys biking Fort Wayne’s trails, reading, sewing, and game nights with her family.
